Chochmat HaLev Chevra Kadisha (Burial Society)

Picture
As part of the Chochmat HaLev spiritual community, the Chevra Kadisha gathers to assist the spiritual leaders and community members in Jewish practices relating to death and burial.

As a progressive community we are committed to developing ritual, liturgy and practices that reflect our values of egalitarianism, Jewish Renewal, and mindfulness, while performing the traditional mitzvot of tahara, (ritual purification of the deceased), burial, and comfort to the mourning.

We see our role as fulfilling the mitzvah of caring for our deceased, organizing shiva minyans for our mourners, and as an educational resource for our entire community.

Contact the Chevra Kadisha  by calling call 510 704-9687.  Members of Chochmat HaLev with an urgent spiritual care need will be directed to the on-call member of the Chochmat HaLev spiritual team.
