FRIDAY NIGHT (KABBALAT SHABBAT) SERVICES
Chochmat HaLev offers three different types of Kabbalat Shabbat services at our beautiful Berkeley shul (synagogue), including Tot Shabbat. Each of our services is described below. We warmly invite you to experience the breadth and depth of the Jewish tradition by joining us for each of these unique and varied Shabbat services.
Celebratory Kabbalat Shabbat with Full Band
7:30 p.m.- First and Third Friday evenings of each month, 2012 dates listed below
6:30 p.m.- Fourth Friday evenings of each month
Kiddush and Oneg following the service
Welcome the Sabbath Queen to the sonic evocations of Shirat HaLev. Join Rabbi SaraLeya Schley, Brian Yosef Schachter-Brooks and friends for this heart opening explosion of prayer, song and dance. Full Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv (Evening Service).

Contemplative Kabbalat Shabbat
Second Friday evening of each month dates listed below.
7:30-9:00 p.m.
Kiddush and Potluck Oneg and occasional study-session following the service.
Welcome Shabbat with quiet and community. Join us for this Meditation & Chant service with rotating leadership by Estelle Frankel, Laura Goldman, Jeffrey Kessler, Ibrahim Baba and friends. Our service is followed by Kiddush and a potluck oneg.
7:30-9:00 p.m.
Kiddush and Potluck Oneg and occasional study-session following the service.

Tot Shabbat
Friday Evenings on the first and third Shabbats of each month
6:30 - 7:00 p.m. followed by pot-luck dinner [Please check calendar for last minute schedule changes]
Come and sing, dance and bless with Jen Miriam Kantor, Raizel the Camel, and her other fabulous puppet friends! The half hour service includes candle-lighting, sing-alongs with guitar drums and instruments, puppets and dancing with scarves. The service ends with Kiddush and Hamotzi and is followed by pot-luck dinner. Service specially geared to children aged 0 - 5. Special Shabbat Felt board.
Tot Shabbat is followed by Celebratory Kabbalat Shabbat at 7:30, which is adult-focused but all ages welcome.
