FRIDAY NIGHT (KABBALAT SHABBAT) SERVICES
Chochmat HaLev offers both musical and contemplative Kabbalat Shabbat services at our beautiful Berkeley shul (synagogue), and twice a month we have a dancing, singing, puppet-ing Tot Shabbat. Each of our services is described below. We warmly invite you to experience the breadth and depth of the Jewish tradition by joining us for each of these unique and varied Shabbat services.

Contemplative Kabbalat Shabbat

Kiddush and Potluck Oneg and occasional study-session following the service.
Welcome Shabbat with quiet and community. Join us for this Meditation & Chant service with rotating leadership by Estelle Frankel, Laura Goldman, Jeffrey Kessler, Ibrahim Baba and friends. Our service is followed by Kiddush and a potluck oneg.

5th Wheel Minyan is community-led. Join us for the Kabbalat Shabbat prayers and the Mariv (evening) service. The service leadership will be shared by those who attend, so bring your ideas on how to make it meaningful, your voices, instruments & prayers. Anyone welcome, whether or not you are familiar with the service.

Tot Shabbat
Friday Evenings on the first and third Shabbats of each month
6:30 - 7:00 p.m. first Friday
5:30pm - 6:00pm third Friday
followed by pot-luck dinner [Please check calendar for last minute schedule changes]
Come and sing, dance and bless with Jen Miriam Kantor, Raizel the Camel, and her other fabulous puppet friends! The half hour service includes candle-lighting, sing-alongs with guitar drums and instruments, puppets and dancing with scarves. The service ends with Kiddush and Hamotzi and is followed by pot-luck dinner. Service specially geared to children aged 0 - 5. Special Shabbat Felt board.
Tot Shabbat is followed by Celebratory Kabbalat Shabbat at 7:30, which is adult-focused but all ages welcome.
