MEDITATION

"The spiritual realm is remarkably subtle.  For this reason, in the story of Elijah (1 Kings 19: 11-12),  God is not found in the whirlwind, fire or earthquake -- but in the subtle voice (or sound) that can only be heard in silence
(qol d'mamah daqah)." - Rabbi Jonathan Omer-Mann

Meditation is a core practice in our community.   Please join us in one of the meditation sessions or contemplative services listed here.  No meditation experience necessary.  To learn more about Jewish meditation, we recommend the book Discovering Jewish Meditation, written by long-time Chochmat HaLev supporter and teacher Nan Fink Gefen. You can also read more about Jewish Meditation on our website.

ON-GOING MEDITATION OFFERINGS

Monday Evenings - Torah of Awakening
An Evening of Meditation and Teaching
with Brian Yosef Schachter-Brooks

"Awakening" is the experiential realization that you are infinitely more than your thoughts and feelings. Beneath the personality is a radiant field of awareness, free from negativity and connected to aliveness of the present moment.

Come and discover the freedom and joy which are your essence and birthright through the power of meditation and Kabbalah.

10:30 a.m.
Led by Jeffrey Kessler and Laura Goldman

Join us for contemplative worship on the second and fourth Shabbat mornings of every month at 10:30AM.  Our service follows the arc of the traditional liturgy, in distilled form -- with alternating periods of chanting and silence.  After a time for personal prayer (Amidah), we conclude with a brief Torah drash, the Mourner's Kaddish, and a healing circle.  A wonderful way to nourish and harmonize your soul through mindful connection with the Divine.
